Rev. Wendy van Vliet
Rev. Wendy van Vliet came to Davidsonville United Methodist Church from the two-point charge of Severn UMC and Delmont UMC in Severn MD. She also holds an Interdisciplinary Arts Degree from the University of Baltimore and a degree from Ryerson University in Toronto Ont. Ca. in Business Administration with a focus in Computerized Business Information Systems.
Pastor Wendy is inspired when the Holy Spirit works through her to ignite Christ’s light in someone else. She is fulfilled when folks discover their spiritual gifts and radiate, as they grow into their God given potential. Her goal is to have people see where the Spirit is working in themselves, in their congregation, and in their community, so that they can come together as a beacon of hope, drawing others into God’s real and eternal life.
Wendy is looking forward to learning about the Davidsonville district because she believes that the congregation can bring transformation to the community as they work with the people and organizations in their neighborhood, to meet the needs of the people and share God’s love. She is pleased that Davidsonville is in Anne Arundel County so that she can continue to serve on the County Executive’s Clergy Advisory Board.
Wendy has been married to her husband Frank for 35 years. She has three grown and married children and four grandchildren. Her fifth grandchild is due shortly after she begins to serve with the people of Davidsonville United Methodist Church.
